Just then, they see Captain Smith whipping a fakir at a crossroad after Dhrupad informs Manson that the fakir is urging the locals to revolt. As the fakir is about to be hung the next morning, a veiled Manu renders a British soldier unconscious, disrobes him and frees the fakir. As Manu is about to return to her room, Vahini sees a shadow in the dark and thinks it is Manu's.
