Welcome to Collider’s Heroes, hosted by Jon Schnepp, with John Campea and very special guests Robert Meyer Burnett, Editor and Director of Free Enterprise and Axanar, and Max Landis, writer of Chronicle, American Ultra, Victor Frankenstein, and the new comic book series Superman: American Alien. We bring you the latest news about the Cinematic World of Heroes and Villains! On this episode of Collider’s Heroes (Tuesday Dec 15th, 2015) we discuss the following X-Men :Apocalypse Trailer! The new Xmen film directed by Bryan Singer and written by Simon Kinberg just had its trailer drop. As I mentioned, the final look of Apocalypse is quite different from the purple ivan ooze picts that were scene earlier, with a new poster accompanying the trailer. Actor Oscar Isaacs had this to say "I love Apocalypse. I grew up collecting X-Factor. I remember when the first comic book came out, and for me, especially because I grew up in a religious household, I knew about the book of revelations, the second coming, the Apocalypse, and then you see this comic book character that is supposed to embody all of these ideas. For some people they just thought he was this big blue guy and it was survival of the fittest, but for me, that was less interesting. The most interesting part for me was the Blibical aspect and end of the world and the revelation of the way things were before." What are your thoughts on the newest Xmen Apocalypse Trailer?. Series vs Movies! We are at the point that in this coming year, we will have 7 big budget films and 11 serialized programs for us to watch in 2016. As we move forward into the coming years, what delivery formats will be the dominant ones? The Legend of Tarzan Trailer! Jungle swinging man raised by apes is back on the big screen, played by muscled Alexander Skarsgard as The king of the Jungle, with Margot Robbie as Jane. Will this Tarzan hit the right roar with the audience? Star Trek Beyond Trailer! Star Trek has had many lives via comic books, and has gone through many different television series and films. The newest trailer dropped for the third film that exists in some sideways pocket-universe multiverse transdimensional place, separate from all the other Star Treks. “Sabotage the system”. Let’s talk about this Beastie Boy themed trailer. Deadpool Holiday Viral Marketing ! Minor Mutations 1 C Robert Cargill is the final writer on Dr.Strange, with picts from the set 2 Spiderman vs Darth Maul on the newest Superhero Beatdown 3 Elektra is seen in blurry BTS picts from Daredevil season 2 4 Cate Blanchett in “Thor: Ragnorok” is she cast as Hela? 5 That Vision Thor deleted fight is now on the Deluxe Bluray 6 Paul Rudd is back writing “Antman and the Wasp” Flashback - Hellboy 2 (2008) The 2nd installment in the adventures of Hellboy was directed by the amazing Guillermo Del Toro, and he as always brought with him some of the greatest designs and creatures t grace our screens. Bigger, Badder, and in my own opinion, better than the first Hellboy, Guillermo got to have some fun this time, expanding the roles of Abe Sapien and Liz and the really fun ectoplasmic Johann Krauss, and Hellboy gets a little closer to his final destiny, but first must battle the Golden Army. Let’s talk Hellboy 2 Spotlight: The Death Ray by Daniel Clowes This week’s spotlight is on one of the most recent graphic novels written by the fantastically talented Daniel Clowes, of Ghost World and Art School Confidential fame. With this story, he tracks two friends, Andy and Louie, and their lives from kids to adults, and their relationship with a “Death Ray” toy gun that may or may not have magical powers to make people disappear. Would this book make the translation to film like some of his other works?
