Filmul urmărește prietenia dintre un evadat și un băiat de 14 ani. Acesta din urmă îl ajută pe evadat să găsească adăpost pe o insulă din Mississippi, unde se va ascunde de poliție și de vânătorii de recompense, ajutându-l să se reîntâlnească și cu iubita lui, Juniper.
